Abalone harvest season kicks off in east China

Abalone harvesting is well underway in southeast China's Fujian Province as local fishermen have been busy collecting, sorting and transporting to production companies. Abalone are sea snails. In China, they are consumed stewed, steamed or sauteed, and are considered a luxury item for special occasions.
