WetheBRICScountriesmustsupportUNbodiesinplayingtheirduerolesinfightingCOVID-19. TheWorldHealthOrganization (WHO) isacentralforceincoordinatingtheglobalresponse, andisindispensableforhelpingdevelopingcountries, especiallyourAfricanbrothersandsisters, infightingthedisease. SupportingtheWHOhelpsussavemorelives, treatmorepatients; itenablesamoreeffectiveresponseagainstthevirusandisconducivetopoolingglobalstrength. Atacrucialmomentinhumanity’sjointfightagainstthevirus, anyattempttoundercuttheWHO’sauthorityandobstructitsrolewillbemostill-timedandwillfindnosupportintheinternationalcommunity. OntopofpayingitsassessedcontributionstotheWHOontimeandinfull, ChinadonatedUS$20 milliontotheWHO, andthiswasfollowedbyanotherdonationofUS$30 millionannouncedjustafewdaysago. Hopefullymostofthesefundswillbeusedforaddressingtheurgentneedsofdevelopingcountries. WewillalsoprovidefinancialsupporttotheUN’sGlobalHumanitarianResponsePlan, anddoeverythingwithinourcapacitytolessenthedebtburdenonAfricancountriesandassisttheminboostinganti-epidemiccapacity. Inviewoftheweaknessesandinadequaciesexposedduringthiscrisis, wealsoneedtoenhanceglobalpublichealthgovernance, makeitahigherpriorityontheinternationalagenda, andworktogethertobuildacommunityofhealthforall.
第四，坚持开拓进取，深化金砖合作。金砖各领域合作难免受到疫情影响，但不应停步不前。我们要勇敢迎接挑战，学会化危为机。中方愿同各方一道，积极支持俄方作为主席国开展工作。中方也支持俄方制定《金砖国家经济伙伴战略2025》的倡议。我们要重视线上办公、线上购物等迅速发展的新业态，围绕打造新工业革命伙伴关系，开发新的合作模式，挖掘新的合作潜能。我们要充分发挥新开发银行和应急储备安排作用，为五国经济运行提供稳健的金融支撑。新开发银行扩员已经取得积极进展，要争取圣彼得堡会晤前明确首批新成员。我们还要继续加强人文交流，在五国间架起坚实的民心之桥。
